I'm a professional freelance writer and retired actress who's loved swapping letters, postcards, and other fun things through the mail since I got my first pen pal as a child. Born in Philadelphia, educated in New York City, and called Atlanta home for over a decade---but now I'm embracing the desert of Southern California!I've traveled extensively--everything from studying abroad to working on a cruise line, to Couchsurfing and Air B&B-ing-- amongst other things! I speak a few languages, love shopping and fashion, read whenever I can, and spend far too much time on computer games and bad reality TV. :) I wish I were more artistically talented than I am, since the skills required for drawing have eluded me since elementary school! I'm a lover of all things vintage; the past fascinates and inspires me.
I'm a theatrical person who loves the unique, the flamboyant, and the sparkly. I began performing in the world of musical theatre in childhood, and attended uni to study musical theatre and opera. I was forced to retire from this field due to a chronic illness, but it's still a passion of mine.
When I just want to chill out, I'm a TV junkie-- I love period dramas, thrillers, bad reality TV, and quirky comedies. I also enjoy reading, writing, playing the occasional computer game, and spending time with friends near and far.
I'm happy to receive any and all postcards, but my favourites are those unique and special to where you live! I also love art prints, literary and mail-themed, Baroque/Rococo and Victorian era things, and French-themed postcards. I adore the city of New Orleans, Paris, autumn-themed everything, pink and purple, and all things vintage, I have a special place in my heart for the M&M characters, Stitch, Eeyore, zebras, and pandas. Please do not send postcards with bees (or hives, flowers with a bee on it, etc.) if it can be helped. I have a huge fear of them! I'm also superstitious enough not to like skulls, coffins, or others symbols of death.
I enjoy receiving cards for holidays, World Postcard Day, and anything that is unique to your country.
I would love it if you would write a message on the postcard, and not just a greeting and your name! Part of the fun is hearing from people all over the world, and as a writer, I love words. 〈3 If you're not much of a writer, I also love postcards that are decorated or drawn upon (I sadly cannot draw to save my life! :P) I scrapbook all my cards, and usually, the back is way more interesting than the front.
I look forward to swapping and making the world a fun, kinder, smaller place!
