Hi! I'm Lai, an undergraduate student studying Robotics Engineering at Wuhan University in China.I spend quite a lot of my time around robots, sensors, electronics, code and experiments — so perhaps a little ironically, one of my favourite things is something wonderfully old-fashioned: receiving a handwritten postcard in my mailbox. :)
Outside university, I enjoy travelling, city walks, anime, photography, and wandering around unfamiliar places. When I visit a city, I often find its ordinary details just as interesting as the famous attractions — streets, public transport, university campuses, old buildings, small shops, cafés, and little pieces of everyday life.
That's also what I love about Postcrossing. I'm curious about how people live in different parts of the world.
If you don't know what to write, I'd be happy to hear about your hometown, your university or job, something that happened to you today, a place you love, a local food, an interesting tradition, or simply an ordinary moment from your daily life. Sometimes these little stories are my favourite part of a postcard.
I especially enjoy postcards featuring cityscapes, architecture, universities, trains and public transport, landscapes, local culture, illustrations, or anything that somehow represents where you live. But these are only ideas — every postcard is welcome, and I'd also be very happy to receive a card that you personally like.
I love seeing different languages too, so feel free to write a short sentence in your own language — a little translation would be appreciated! Stamps, postmarks, handwriting, and all the little traces left by a postcard's journey are part of the magic for me.

Every postcard has two journeys: the physical journey across the world, and the story that stays after it arrives. I built the gallery to preserve a little of both.
I'm also creating a map to record where my postcards come from and where the ones I send travel to. I love watching all those little points and routes slowly appear across the world — turning each postcard into part of a much bigger journey.
