Hello everyone! My name is Claire. I am a 24-year-old university student from a small town in central Illinois, USA. I am majoring in Global Studies and getting a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. My goal for after graduation is to live in Japan (again) and teach English. I am also very interested in minority languages and language revitalization. I enjoy country life, caring for animals and children, writing letters and postcards, learning about and speaking various languages, attending cultural events, and taking walks outside. I have been to about 20 US states and 5 countries- US (home), Canada 3x, Japan 4x, Norway, and Mexico. Some of my dream experiences would be a train trip around Finland, bed and breakfast stay in the English countryside, watching a Māori hakka in person, attending Latviešu dziesmu un deju svētki in Latvia, visiting the different republics of Russia, and more :) Thank you for reading about me!
