I am an Anthropology major in college. I plan to specialize in linguistic anthropology as I am very passionate about the conservation of language. My ideal future would be to document the various dialects in China. I am very passionate about culture, especially Asian culture. I am always interested in China but I have also been researching into Vietnamese culture. I am currently learning Cantonese with the Yale Romanization system and hope to learn to read and write traditional Chinese as well in the future.

I am open to pen pals and direct swaps with people! But please check your email as I have sent direct messages following up on penpaling that have not been responded to. And feel free to email me if I have not responded as life has been hectic.

If my card has gotten lost or it has been a while with no registration I will also reach out to check as I do not mind trying to send it again.

Postcard desires:

I love historical and vintage postcards, or postcards that tell me something about your culture. I don’t like the simple font cards. I am interested in hearing about people’s lives and cultures all over the world though, so do not worry too much about the visual if you share an interesting story with me :)

If you are from China or know how to write Chinese, I would be grateful if you would write something to my 媽媽。She is 94 and is from a village in Toisan, Guangdong Province. Please let her know about life in China now since she can no longer travel. EDIT: by 媽媽 I mean my father's mom, sorry, forgot terms are different in Mandarin :) thank you kindly for those who have sent cards in Chinese for her. If you click my profile and all photos you can see her reading them :) Unfortunately her health has gotten worse as has her memory so she requires more time and care. But she is overjoyed every time I tell her I got to go to China earlier this year and say hi to her nephews and nieces in Guangzhou.
