Hello,
My name is Sandrine.

I'm new to this site, having discovered it through Facebook, and I'm happy to meet people who share the same idea of ​​exchanging postcards.

I'm 64 years old (born January 11, 1962), married to Patrick, a grain farmer in the Cher region. We have a 26-year-old daughter, Melaine.

I'm originally from the Paris region, which I left at the age of 8, and I've lived in the Berry/Sologne region ever since. To be honest, I hate going back to Paris and its surrounding area… I discovered the Vendée region through my previous job, and I fell in love with it. We go there as a family whenever we can; the seaside is so invigorating.
We live on a farm surrounded by fields, in a small village in central France, in the region of the royal châteaux.

The owner of the land that Patrick cultivates gives us free access to his forests and ponds for walks, harvesting mushrooms and fruit for pies and jams, etc.
We have two Labradors, Dundee and Darzan, a Dutch rabbit named Panpan, an aquarium with various fish, and a cat named Miel.
I'm happy to learn about new places and different cultures, as I can't travel abroad as much as I'd like.
MY HOBBIES: I've been collecting magnets for 40 years—fridge magnets from all countries, all brands, all shapes, tourist and advertising—and postcards with recipes, stamps, bookmarks, tourist spoons.
I've enjoyed swaps for a few years now, but I never had the time to really get into it. So, to receive them for free, I joined several Facebook groups that request promotional items, samples, and participate in contests.
I've also started a collection of salt and pepper shakers, appetizer picks, pepper mills, vintage images from the 80s, pin-up cards, Sarah Kay cards, and more.
Oh, and yes, I hunt Pokémon with my daughter. It's because I love collecting things (see above), so yes, I collect Pokémon on my cell phone, but I hate battling in gyms! And when I have to wait before an appointment, or as a passenger in a car, it's games on my phone like Candy Crush or Bubble Gum... For the past few months, I've been doing swaps like Happy Mail, a fun way to travel! And I've been collecting teas and their bags and packaging.
HOBBIES:
I've loved creative hobbies since I was little.

I do scrapbooking (junk journaling, albums, etc.), draw, knit, and sew—basically, all kinds of creative hobbies except jewelry making. I'm also addicted to NOZ and ACTION stores for home decor and creating handmade gifts.
I collect and accumulate lots of things, like paper, for my albums.
I love to cook, and I also enjoy trying out all the new kitchen utensils, testing new flavors, and new recipes.
I garden—vegetables and flowers—and take care of houseplants. I always have a vase of flowers or a flowering potted plant in my living room!
I hunt for vintage finds and restore old furniture to decorate our house (an old farmhouse from the 1880s, very old-fashioned style, with beams).
For the past few years, I've discovered the Bullet Journal concept and I've become completely hooked on it for organization. I use Postcrossing to send cards, and I'm also trying other sites…
I love picnicking by the water, visiting monuments and museums, taking walks in nature, going to markets, and flea markets.

Hence my LITTLE CORNER OF MY OWN: a small room for scrapbooking, my collections, etc.; decorated to my taste and with things I receive from swaps, gifts, etc.

SPORTS: none, I hate doing sports! Except for walks with our dogs.

MY FAVORITE COLOR: purple and its variations (plum, mauve, etc.), turquoise recently, and brown.

DECORATING PICKS: pineapples, sunflowers, warm colors, candles and oil burners, potpourri, pretty curtains, antique lace, old buttons and doorknobs, and vintage style. I love decorating the house for holidays and special occasions: Easter, Christmas, Halloween… decorations bought or handmade.

MY CULINARY TASTES: almost everything, except cooked endives and certain offal. I enjoy both sweet and savory dishes, coffee or tea, preferably loose leaf rather than tea bags, and especially local and regional products. I love cooking and trying new recipes, mixing flavors. I have a very large collection of cookbooks… I hate using a pressure cooker or a Thermomix.

TEA or COFFEE: I love tea, especially rooibos, but I'm not a big fan of mint tea or smoked and vanilla teas. I much prefer loose-leaf teas to tea bags. I'm not a fan of herbal teas... But I also see a lot of coffee! Not very strong, but too often; I need to cut down... I like to drink them in pretty cups or mugs.

IN LITERATURE: I read very few books or novels; I prefer travel magazines, cooking magazines, gardening magazines, craft magazines, etc., and lately I've been discovering magazines like Flow, L'Atelier des Nanas, Daphnée... but not anything related to meditation!

FAVORITE FILMS: science fiction films, thrillers,
FAVORITE MUSIC: the 80s, but also Adele, Kungs, Tal, Jaine,

AND OTHER THINGS:
I LOVE: in addition to my collecting hobbies, masking tape, action, thriller, adventure, and science fiction films, but also comedies, dreamcatchers, anything related to haberdashery (buttons, pretty squares of fabric, yarn, accessories), pretty tin or cardboard boxes,

AND I HATE: verbal and physical violence, lies, vulgarity, constant criticism, lack of respect and manners, game shows or reality TV, the color green, Coca-Cola and whiskey, making my own cosmetics or cleaning products,

Regarding postcards:
I appreciate all postcards, whether handwritten and stamped or in an envelope with beautiful stamps, any size.

My favorite themes are: boats, lighthouses, windmills, recipes, old trades, and touristy images of your city/region/country, with anecdotes.
I don't like religious, nude, sports, or advertising postcards.
