What is shared about oneself:
Hi, world! My name is Jessica and I live in a small village in the South of Bavaria, Germany with my husband and Gijs the cat. Do you know the Disney logo? The castle depicted in it is actually based on a real castle near to where I live: Neuschwanstein. I love this area so much, that, after years of going on holiday here I decided to move here from my native Netherlands. My favourite activities are hiking in the Alps and sampling local cakes (think Apfelstrudel, Black Forest Gateau, Sachertorte, you name it and I have probably eaten it). When I was getting my doctorate in archaeology, I found out that you can actually learn how to do embroidery professionally. My paternal grandma and my maternal grandpa were great embroiderers and I learned to embroider as a kid and have kept at it ever since. About ten years ago, I left the world of archaeology and started over as an embroidery teacher and researcher. My specialisation is in medieval goldwork embroidery. Currently, I try to really get into the skin of these medieval embroiderers. Once a month, I dress up in my medieval replica clothing and I demonstrate goldwork embroidery in an old building in an Open Air Museum near me. As I am also an avid stamp collector, I really appreciate it if you could put a pretty stamp on my card. Thank you very much and I am looking forward to receiving your postcard. Have a great day!P.S. Postcard desires:
You would really make me happy with postcards that have a quote, proverb or a saying on them. Can be anything! I greatly enjoy learning about proverbs and sayings in other languages. My maternal grandpa made up some famous ones that are still used in our family. One of my favourites is: By then my teeth will no longer itch. This means: "I don't care" as I will have died by then. The itchy teeth being a euphemism for toothache. Do let me know about your favourite saying or proverb!
