Hi,
My name is Marie-Chantale. I am a francophone Canadian and I live in the province of Quebec in Canada. My country is the second largest in the world. It is bordered by the Pacific, Arctic and Atlantic oceans. There are 10 provinces and three territories. And it certainly isn’t the 51st state of the USA! Even if Canada has two official languages (English and French), Quebec is the only francophone province in North America. More precisely, I live in a town called Trois-Rivières. It is an important town on the edge of the St. Lawrence River, between Quebec City and Montreal. My town has 150 000 inhabitants and belongs to the Mauricie region. Trois-Rivières is the cultural capital of Canada, as well as the poetry capital of Canada. It’s also the second oldest town in Quebec and has been founded in 1634. This town is known for its paper manufacturing plants.
I live in a nice little house with my family and my four cats. My house in on a small land where I grow plants and flowers. I love nature, animals (any animal… I love them all!) and gardening. In my garden, there are squirrels, blue jays, red cardinals, crows, turtledoves and even sometimes buzzards. There are also skunks and eastern chipmunks. Within minutes of walking, I can reach the St. Lawrence River or the St. Maurice River shores. In my country, there are four seasons and the weather varies enormously from season to season. The temperature can go from -30˚˚ C during winter to + 32˚ C during summer. Canada is a mostly peaceful place where nice people live. There are many wide-open spaces, forests, lakes and rivers.
As for me, I have a diploma in social work. I am an extrovert, sociable, very curious, creative, empathetic and determined person. I like reading, cinema, modern art, tales and legends, and anything mysterious (esotericism, divinatory arts, spirituality, things that are unusual, true crime and astrology. By the way, I am a Scorpio and my rising sign is also Scorpio…. How about you?). My political views tend to be social democrat. I value the protection of the environment more than economical considerations. Injustice, cruelty (especially that done to animals) and authoritarianism revolt me. All in all, this is a good summary of what there is to know about me.

I would love to receive postcards that give me a glimpse into your lifestyle and/or your country (local products? traditions? recipes? food? unusual facts? your state of mind? ...). Finally, if there is a celebration taking place in your country when you send your card, I would be delighted if you shared a card illustrating that celebration or event and told me about it. P.S. Can you include your date of birth...I love receiving Christmas or New Year's cards with greetings and a description of how you celebrated those occasions. Otherwise, I would love to receive birthday cards around October 25th... Thank you very much in advance :)
